E-invoicing made simple: Novutech & Invopop partner to solve compliance for NetSuite users across Europe
netsuite-articles
European finance teams are racing against e-invoicing deadlines. France mandates it in September 2026. Belgium is rolling out PEPPOL. Germany already requires B2B compliance. Each country has its own format, platform, and timeline.
When Oracle announced NetSuite's e-invoicing roadmap later than many businesses hoped, CFOs across Europe asked the same questions: How do we stay compliant without disrupting operations? Do we need separate solutions for France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, and beyond?
That's why Novutech partnered with Invopop.
We've built a comprehensive, NetSuite-native solution that simplifies e-invoicing compliance across 25+ countries, so your finance team can manage the entire invoicing workflow (accounts receivable and accounts payable) directly within your ERP.
Why this partnership matters now
As NetSuite's trusted ERP partner across Europe, we took our customers' concerns seriously. How could they meet rapidly approaching deadlines? What about multi-country operations? Would they need multiple vendors, platforms, and support contracts?
We immediately began scoping the market for a reliable, scalable e-invoicing solution that could serve our diverse customer base, from Belgium to the Nordics, from single-country operations to pan-European enterprises.
After months of research, we chose Invopop. Here's why.
Why Invopop?
Invopop isn't a typical compliance vendor. Founded by Sam Lown, co-founder and former CTO of Cabify (Spain's answer to Uber), the company was born from real-world pain.
When Cabify expanded across South America, where e-invoicing has been mandatory for years, the team struggled with country-specific formats, platform certifications, and operational complexity. Rather than patch together multiple vendors, they built Invopop: a universal e-invoicing platform designed for global scale.
Today, Invopop supports 25+ countries (primarily Europe and Latin America) and powers invoicing for companies like Fever, DeepL, Booksy, and SumUp. Their technology is backed by Y Combinator (W23) and has been recognized as the Best Startup at South Summit 2024 and Madrid's Hottest Startup by Wired.
Their secret weapon? A universal open-source invoice format called GOBL that converts seamlessly into any local standard: PEPPOL (Belgium), FatturaPA (Italy), XRechnung (Germany), Factur-X (France), and more, automatically.
For Novutech, the decision was clear: Invopop's proven technology + our NetSuite expertise = a solution built for growth.
How the Novutech-Invopop solution works
Think of our partnership as a division of labor:
Invopop handles the complexity:
- Accepts invoices in a single easy to customize JSON-based universal format (GOBL)
- Converts them into country-specific standards automatically
- Transmits to certified government platforms (PDPs in France, SDI in Italy, PEPPOL access point, etc.)
- Manages real-time status tracking: sent, accepted, or rejected
- Ensures compliance updates as regulations evolve
Novutech builds the NetSuite connector:
- Seamlessly integrates your ERP with Invopop's API
- Enables AR and AP workflows entirely within the ERP: no platform switching
- Provides customization to match your existing financial processes
- Offers pre- and post-go-live support, including training and compliance guidance
The result? Your finance team forgets about e-invoicing. The solution runs in the background, requiring minimal user interaction, especially for accounts receivable.
For accounts payable, you maintain control where needed (3-way matching, approvals, etc.) while automation handles the compliance layer.

Real-world applications across Europe
We're not launching a concept. We're live.
Since December 2025, we've been supporting Belgian customers with full e-invoicing compliance. Here's what we've enabled:
- 3-way matching: Automated matching between purchase orders, goods receipts, and supplier invoices for businesses with complex procurement workflows.
- Integration-based invoicing: Companies using middleware (Celigo, Workato) or direct integrations (Salesforce) to automate invoice creation in NetSuite.
- AR-only or AP-only deployments: Not every business needs both flows in NetSuite. For instance, some companies have a separate accounts payable tool and only need to manage outgoing e-invoices in NetSuite. The solution is flexible enough to support this — we can activate accounts receivable e-invoicing only.
More improvements and features are coming in the months ahead.
Get ready for e-invoicing compliance
If you're a NetSuite customer operating in Europe, the clock is ticking:
- France: Phased rollout begins September 2026 (large enterprises first, SMEs by 2027)
- Belgium: PEPPOL mandate expected 2026
- Germany: B2B e-invoicing enforcement ramping up through 2027
- Spain, Italy, Poland: Already live or enforcement tightening
Don't wait for the deadline. E-invoicing implementations require:
- Process mapping and workflow design
- NetSuite configuration and connector integration
- User training and internal change management
- Testing cycles with government platforms
Most projects take 3–6 months from kickoff to go-live.
